Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach that focuses on socially significant behaviors and utilizes evidence based strategies to teach our children replacement behaviors. ABA is effective for individuals in a variety of settings.  Research has demonstrated that intensive ABA therapy has been shown to significantly improve behaviors and decrease the need for services. ABA utilizes a systematic approach where skills are broken down into manageable steps, allowing each child to progress towards their targeted goal. Each client at Autism Matters receives an individualized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs and objectives. Our ABA Program emphasizes not only skill acquisition but also retention and the generalization of these skills to different people and environments.

Research shows that early intervention is crucial, with 25-40 hours per week being optimal to achieve best outcomes. The specific number of hours your child requires will depend on the recommendations from their Diagnostic Assessment and Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Evaluation (CMDE), based on medical necessity. During the intake process, the number of hours that are medically necessary will be determined and communicated to your family before treatment begins.
